Global Framework Released to Accelerate the Deployment of Advanced Nuclear and SMRs

On November 7, the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with Accenture, Terra Praxis, and other stakeholders across the clean energy ecosystem, has released a framework to accelerate the deployment of advanced nuclear and SMRs to help meet rising global demand for clean energy. On November 7, Kirsty Gogan continued the engagement with WEF at the Senior Executive Meeting: Accelerating Advanced Nuclear. In this meeting, 50 leaders in energy and sustainability discussed strategies and actions to rapidly advance the clean energy transition. Kirsty presented on the panel session 'Accelerating Advance Nuclear' along with Sama Bilbao y Leon, Director General of the World Nuclear Association; and Massimo Marino, Chief Education and Academic Relations Officer at newcleo. Kirsty's remarks addressed the growing demand for clean energy across various industries, including technology and heavy industry. She highlighted the significant value proposition of clean energy solutions, particularly advanced nuclear technologies, in the context of the rapidly changing energy landscape.

World Economic Forum DeRisking New Nuclear: An Ecosystem Approach

On April 25, the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Energy and Materials convened stakeholders to focus on key priorities to accelerate the deployment of new nuclear energy infrastructure, including SMRs and other advanced nuclear technologies, through demand aggregation and collaboration as strategies to de-risk new development. Kirsty Gogan provided “Firestarter remarks” for an invitation-only roundtable held under Chatham House Rule along with C-suite and other senior experts from across the nuclear ecosystem including large energy consumers, the nuclear supply chain, financiers, and other experts.
